I got through half of this in the audio version, which is a considerable investment of time, but honest to goodness, if I had to hear about Ben's "bobbing penis" one more time I was going to hurl (twice on one cd alone). I'm not sure if it was the reader or what, but it was excrutiating. I wanted to want to finish it, I was intrigued by the mystery and who was good and who was bad. I guess this isn't the right time for me and S.J. Watson. Maybe I'll try the print version with better luck.
Okay, I've checked this out again. Let's see if it proves worth my time. Stand by...
I was right the first time. This sucked. The last few chapters were good, but, honestly, if you have to wait for the last few chapters, your time could be better spent elsewhere. My recommendation? Just go to sleep instead of reading this. Or read this to get to sleep.

Overall I found this to be a solid read. It reminded me of the movie 'Memento', in that the central character's loyalties and trust shifts by the information she receives new each day. Compelling, but a little unsatisfying by the end. As a previous review mentioned, it does include violence and some sex, although not what I would consider graphic.

This book kept my interest from the beginning. I enjoyed the story line and the way it was being told. However, because of the many incongruities throughout the book, I found myself going back and rereading certain parts to check the details. Also, I found the ending a bit sloppy and disappointing. I could have easily given this 4 stars otherwise. I started the topic "incongruities in this book" in the discussion section, please feel free to add to it!

This was definitely a page-turner. It's hard to imagine what living with this disability would really be like, but it was handled well in this novel. Suspenseful, with a satisfying resolution. I look forward to more from this author.

Though the premise of an amnesiac awakening anew with each dawn was intriguing, I was quickly bored with all the dialogue in this book finding it to be neither witty nor fresh. There was not enough action and the character interaction could not sustain my interest. The plot became who said what and when, but if you like to sort out those types of story lines, you may enjoy this book.

For a debut novel this was an auspicious start.
I would recommend not starting this one until you can complete it quickly as you will want to know what is going to happen next. Unusual plot twists, satisfying conclusion.

I was looking forward to reading this book with my book club. However, I was very disappointed and stopped reading it because of the sexual content and language the author used. I don't believe it was necessary to the story line and it would have been a very good book otherwise.
